Contact Ryan

Ryan Huizenga grew up in Hudsonville, Michigan, where his family was involved in a large family business. West Michigan family and business values have shaped Ryan in his law practice today, where he now devotes the substantial majority of his practice to the counseling of small and family businesses on the legal issues that confront them, such as business disputes, corporate governance, estate planning, business succession, and business formation, real estate sales, and acquisitions.

Ryan came to the firm in 2011 after developing his skills for a number of years in a civil and business litigation practice, including representing clients before the Michigan Court of Appeals. He graduated cum laude from Hillsdale College in 2001 with degrees in Political Science and Classical Studies, and then attended Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, graduating cum laude in 2005, concentrating his studies in business law.

When not having fun at the office, you can often find Ryan up on a ladder or working in the yard of his 145 year old historic Heritage Hill “lumber baron” house, which was significantly expanded and renovated a century ago by a partner of Muskegon’s Charles Hackley, and outfitted with quartersawn oak, birdseye maple, and figured cherry throughout.  He is married, has three boisterous boys, and enjoys water sports at the family cottage. Give him a call; he would love to take you to lunch!
