Dan SlotsemaContact Dan

Dan Slotsema came over from a large firm to Verspoor Waalkes in 1986. He graduated from Calvin College in 1974, and went straight to teaching middle school social studies. After three years of teaching, he felt the “call” (middle school does that to some people), and went to Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating in 1981.

Dan has been a lifelong resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he has well established roots. His practice emphasis is in litigation and he has developed an expertise in construction lien and collection cases. His keen ability to resolve disputes in a quick and cost efficient manner seems to keep debtors paying one (legal) way or the other.

Dan has six (yes, a family man!) children and a number of grandchildren. He loves family events. He has also held leadership positions in his church and volunteers to serve in a number of community organizations, including serving as a mentor for underprivileged and disadvantaged young people.
